Photos 1,2,3 and four are of some lovely, loose watercolours by the late Ken Clapp. What a man! Ken was a lively 80 something, who drew, painted and was a clever cartoonist, with a wit to match. By way of relaxation, he absailed last year 200 feet down the Trafford Centre tower, Manchester, raising a creditable £732 for Beechwood Cancer Care.
Four years ago, Ken completed a charity parachute jump and he had put his name down for a zip wire across the water at Salford Quays this spring, again for a good cause. Back to his painting and Ken’s delightful take on local scenes is a joy to behold – I hope you agree. He was taken into hospital at Christmas and passed on in January of this year. I’ll miss my friend Ken, but his legacy lives on.
